However, there are always some extra van items that could make your next outdoor adventure so much better, which is what we’re here to talk about today.
Portable Water Filter
We know that you already have tons of options for water in your van by this point, but what about when you’re on a hike and run out? That’s where a portable water filter could come in handy. While some filters might be a bit cumbersome to take with you on a hike, many small, lightweight options exist these days. After your long hike, we’re sure you’ll want to head straight into your van to rest up for a bit. But the last thing you want to do is walk inside with your filthy shoes. You could leave them in the grass, but they could end up getting even dirtier depending on where you parked.
A simple doormat could fix this issue in an instant. If your shoes aren’t too dirty, you could wipe them off on the mat before going inside. If you won’t be able to clean them that easily, then you can leave them outside on it for them to dry properly.

Cargo nets allow for easy storage of miscellaneous items that you don’t have an open drawer for, while bungee cords hold things in place that would normally fall when driving.
Outdoor Lighting
Another essential item you’ll probably want for your next campervan trip is some external light sources. Obviously, campfires are great, and the lights built into your vehicle can come in handy, but they won’t cut it most of the time. When you want to throw a late-night party or play an outdoor game with some friends, having extra lights will undoubtedly improve these activities. There’s no need to strain your eyes if you don’t have to.
